The film has a day-and-date release at 35-mm and IMAX flat-, dome-, and 3D theaters. THE POLAR EXPRESS marks Warner Brothers' third simultaneous 35-mm and IMAX release after THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS and HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN.
